Flaming Gorge Country awes with sweeping canyon views, tranquil waters, and stunning rock formations. Take a full-day bus tour of the national recreation area and stop at scenic overlooks, learn more about the area, and indulge in a delicious lunch. Downtown Rock Springs will host the Rods and Rails Car Show. The show will feature more than 100 different classic cars and motorcycles from the 1950's and 1960's as old-school rock and roll hits play in the streets. Car and motorcycle enthusiasts throughout the region will be heading to Sweetwater County to show off their cherry rides, and you won't want to miss it that Saturday 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Celebrate the diverse heritage of Rock Springs each summer in Bunning Park. Rock Springs is known as the “Home of 56 Nationalities,” and on International Day we celebrate Rock Springs' variety of cultures with international cuisine, costumes, exhibits, and performances all day long. Immerse yourself in Rock Springs culture, and have fun while you are at it!
Named the number one summer event in Wyoming by “Wyoming Lifestyle Magazine,” the Sweetwater County Fair (a.k.a. Wyoming’s BIG Show) is the one event you cannot miss this summer. People will come from hundreds of miles away to experience the carnival, enjoy 4H exhibits, livestock exhibits, and see the major music acts take the stage. From big country artists like Trace Adkins and Dylan Scott to rockers like Puddle of Mudd and Ratt, there are shows that everyone enjoys!
Both Green River and Rock Springs offer farmer’s markets throughout the summer season. Enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables while you shop homemade craft tables. This is a great opportunity to connect with the Sweetwater County community, so make sure you stop at the Green River and Rock Springs markets. 2024 schedule TBA, stay tuned!
National blues bands and local and regional breweries come together to form one tasty and toe-tapping summer festival for live music and beer fans alike. Downtown Rock Springs turns Bunning Park into the coolest blues bar in the West. Check our events calendar as the festival approaches to stay up-to-date on details and big-name headliners!
Great food and drinks, activities, music, shows, and fireworks are all jam-packed into the River Festival & Art on the Green this August. Get tickets now for the Cajun Shrimp Boil that always sells out, start training for the annual “Run With the Horses Marathon," and get your dogs and your cars ready for their respective shows, then finally relax and watch the night's fireworks display! One thing's for sure: there's fun for all ages and interests at this festival.
Racing comes hard and fast at the Sweetwater Speedway - don't miss this action-packed event! Cheer on drivers as they race around the 3/8 mile banked oval dirt track! With tickets starting at $5 per person, this event is fun for people of all ages. Watch stock cars, go-karts, and more race to be #1! On race days the gates open at 5:30 pm with racing at 7 pm. The 2024 race season begins May 24th and 25th. Races continue throughout the summer on June 21st & 22nd, July 4th (Enduro), July 5th and 6th, August 16th - 17th, August 30th - 31st, and September 7th. The NHSFR is the “World’s Largest Rodeo,” featuring approximately 1,700 contestants from across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Australia. Athletes vie for national titles, assorted prizes, and their share of thousands of dollars in college scholarships. Action at the event is non-stop, with rodeo performances being conducted twice each day.
For three full nights, you can see bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, and bareback riding at the Red Desert Roundup Rodeo at Sweetwater Event’s Complex in Rock Springs. In between watching the professionals, kids can participate in the mutton bustin’ or calf scramble contests. Don't miss the parade in Rock Springs on July 29th!
The stakes are high during the Sweetwater Downs. Watch horses from all over the Western United States, including Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona and even as far away as California compete for cash prizes. Stay tuned for the 2024 race dates!
