Flaming Gorge Scenic Byway

Take a Scenic Drive on a Designated All-American Road

This spectacular scenic drive takes in the arid and colorful landscape surrounding the Green River as it slowly tumbles from its namesake city to Lake Flaming Gorge. You can see this byway — often referred to as “the best of Sweetwater County” in just a few hours. Or make this beautiful drive last by camping overnight and spending more time watching for wildlife. Check out our guide to the Flaming Gorge Scenic Byway to make sure you don't miss anything along your drive.

Disclaimer: This is a true “off the grid experience,” and cell service is limited! Make sure you have extra water, and a high-clearance, four-wheel-drive vehicle with thick tires (and a spare tire) to traverse the dirt roads. Let someone know where you are headed and when you plan to return.
